Our Story

Every company has a beginning. Ours began with the determination of a 14-year-old boy in Zagreb, Croatia (then Yugoslavia), who had an ambition to build things with his hands and create a better future.

After learning metalworking from a neighbour in the mid-1960s, he began building spot welders by hand. Those early years shaped a lifelong approach to the trade — work hard, keep learning, and take pride in doing things properly.

Driven by opportunity, he eventually made his way to Paris, where he worked alongside his brother constructing boiler rooms and industrial mechanical systems throughout the city and the surrounding suburbs. The experience broadened his skills and exposed him to larger, more complex industrial projects before his journey continued to Canada.

After first settling in Montreal, he later moved to Toronto, where he purchased a small company known as Bruno Welding. The business provided cutting and welding services for the scrapyards and heavy industry around Toronto’s docklands. Over time, it evolved into International Mobile Welding Ltd., with an increasing focus on industrial piping, pressure welding, hot tapping, machining, millwrighting, and field services.

Today, International Mobile Welding is a second-generation family business. Alongside decades of practical trade experience, the second generation brings a background in Mechanical Engineering and the application of ASME and CSA standards, continuing to expand the company’s technical capabilities while staying true to the values it was built on.

Today we work throughout Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area, north into cottage country, and for customers on both sides of the border. More than fifty years later, those values remain much the same. The company has grown alongside Ontario’s industrial sector, adapting to new technologies, industries, and customer needs while maintaining a practical, hands-on approach to every project.

From a young tradesman building spot welders in Zagreb to a family business serving industry across Ontario, International Mobile Welding’s history has always been shaped by curiosity, hard work, and a willingness to embrace new opportunities.

Our Team

Our workforce is built around certified trades, not general labour. Every project is staffed with people qualified for the specific system they are working on.

• TSSA certified welders for pressure piping, boilers, and pressure vessel work
• Red Seal welders across SMAW, GTAW, and GMAW processes
• Red Seal industrial millwrights for mechanical installation and alignment
• Dedicated hot tapping technicians trained on live, pressurized systems

Our Facility

Our Nobleton shop provides over 6,000 square feet of fabrication space, letting us prefabricate large-scale mechanical, structural, and custom assemblies in a controlled environment. We build complete pump skids in house for Canadian and American customers — base frame, pumps, valves, and interconnecting pipework assembled and tested on the floor, then delivered as a single unit ready to set and connect. Prefabrication moves hours off your site, reduces trade congestion, and improves consistency, particularly on repetitive spool work and high-pressure assemblies.
