Hot Tapping Services
- Live connections up to 12″
- Often removes the outage entirely
Planned outages have a fixed window and a long list. We add certified welding and millwright capacity for the duration — working alongside your own maintenance crew, under our own TSSA Certificates of Authorization, then releasing when the window closes. And where the work can be done live, hot tapping and line stopping often remove the need for the shutdown in the first place.
We also schedule evening, weekend, and holiday work as a matter of course. If a line has to come down for us to work on it, the question is usually not whether it can be done, but when it costs you least.
The most expensive hours in any outage are the ones spent on your site. We build spools, skids, and assemblies in our Nobleton shop ahead of the window, so what arrives on the day is ready to set and connect. Less fitting in a live plant, fewer field welds, fewer surprises, and a shorter critical path.
Before scheduling a shutdown, it is worth asking whether the connection can be made live. We hot tap and line stop pressurized gas, water, steam, and process piping up to 12″ without taking the system down — which frequently turns a planned outage into a routine work order. If you are budgeting downtime for a tie-in, talk to us before you book it.
Work we are usually asked about alongside outage support.
Tell us the window and the scope — the earlier we are involved, the more we can take off your critical path.
